Project Manager / Scheduler - Commercial & Residential Construction (Full-Time)
Location: Knoxville, TN (Hybrid / Office-Based with Project Coordination)

To support continued growth and operational excellence, we are seeking a PM / Scheduler to support both project scheduling and project management coordination across commercial and residential operations.
This is a part-time, senior-level coordination role focused on developing and maintaining the master construction schedule while supporting project teams, leadership, and preconstruction efforts. You'll collaborate closely with Operations, Estimating, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to ensure projects are sequenced realistically, staffed appropriately, and executed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and manage the master schedule ("Big Board") for all active and forecasted projects
- Create and review detailed construction schedules for projects in preconstruction and active phases
- Coordinate project sequencing, crew assignments, and resource planning with Operations leadership
- Support Project Managers with schedule development, updates, and risk identification
- Collaborate with Estimating on project timelines, scope assumptions, and staffing needs
- Coordinate with Business Development regarding pipeline capacity and future workload
- Provide Executive Leadership with scheduling insights, constraints, and recommendations
- Update and distribute the master schedule weekly to Operations, Estimating, Business Development, and Executive teams
- Monitor workload trends and proactively flag staffing or sequencing issues
- Coordinate with Human Resources regarding hiring timelines based on projected needs
- Participate in weekly Operations meetings and bi-weekly Business Development meetings
- Participate in project-specific scheduling meetings and coach teams on scheduling best practices
- Collaborate with Quality Control to identify skill and training needs tied to upcoming projects
- Participate in employee interviews and evaluations as needed
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of construction management experience
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software
- Construction management experience with strong understanding of sequencing and dependencies
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Proven ability to estimate realistic task durations and build executable schedules
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Comfortable collaborating with executive and cross-functional teams
Preferred
- Degree in Construction Management or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience using Microsoft Project or equivalent
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to walk and navigate active construction sites, including attics and crawl spaces
- Occasional outdoor work in regional climate conditions
- Vision of 20/40 or better (natural or corrected)
